I have just returned from a “holiday of a lifetime“ at Sun Island Resort & Spa, South Ari Atoll, Maldives.

Before I went, I found several helpful “review” websites where people can leave their comments and thoughts on holiday destinations. I thought it would be much more fun to put together a website to share my ramblings and photos etc. So here we are.

Elements of Sun Island are superb, other parts are not quite what I expected from the brochure and research I did– but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are “bad”

I’m pretty well travelled, have good grasp of languages and as a former hotel manager for many years, I know a little bit about hospitality and resorts – in particular the standards I expect from any hotel, of any rating, anywhere in the world. Good service costs nothing.

Hopefully my comments and thoughts on Sun Island will be of use to anybody planning to go. Feel free to browse the photos, email me and use the forum for chats about Sun Island.

The Maldives is a very special place. Sun Island is a nice resort. I had a great few weeks off work, enjoyed the sunshine and relaxed like never before. In my opinion, Sun Island has not yet reached the pinnacle of the resort if could aspire to be, but if you are planning to go there for a honeymoon or holiday you could do an awful lot worse.
